5 Things To Look For In A Virtual PBX Provider

Most people that start looking for a virtual PBX, don’t have a lot of background knowledge or firsthand experience with them before they start their research.  A lot of the providers may at first glance seem to offer the same thing, or maybe they offer features and systems that are completely different and you don’t know what is best for you.  It can be confusing.  As for which features and capabilities are going to be best, that will depend on your specific needs.  However, remember to research your provider and not just their features.   Here are 5 things to look for.

  • No Contracts- A company that DOES NOT make you sign a long term contract is confident in their service and is customer oriented.
  • Number Portability- Make sure that if you are unhappy with your service or if your situation changes, that you can take your number with you when you leave.
  • Longevity- Ask how long the company has been in business.  A provider that has been in the business for awhile will have had time to hone their services, will understand the technology and needs of their customers, and will most likely be around for the long haul.
  • Uptime- Don’t be afraid to ask what a provider’s uptime is.  Reliability is crucial for communications.
  • Flexibility- You will want a company that has the technology and policies in place to make it possible to change your system features and size as you grow, or cutback.

It can be confusing trying to choose the right virtual PBX provider and system for your needs. Take it from the top and research the provider themselves as well as their features and prices.
